GETTING TO PERHENTIAN ISLAND
Where ever you are from; you will need to get yourself to Kuala Besut jetty in Terengganu. At the jetty, there are numerous boat office which organizes speedboat transfer to Perhentian Island. Make sure you buy your boat ticket from a reputable boat agency. Contact us to get recommendation. Return speedboat ticket is RM70.00 per adult.
Flying to Kota Bharu Airport:
The nearest airport to Perhentian Island is Kota Bharu airport, just around 1 hour journey to Kuala Besut jetty. Direct flights are available from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Subang Airport and Penang International Airport. If flights to Kota Bharu Airport are fully book, you can also fly to Kuala Terengganu Airport. But from Kuala Terengganu airport to Kuala Besut jetty take 1 1/2 hour journey by taxi.

From Kota Bharu airport to Kuala Besut jetty by taxi at RM80.00 per taxi (maximum 4 persons to a taxi)
From Kuala Terengganu airport to Kuala Besut jetty at RM100.00 per taxi (maximum 4 persons to a taxi)
Train to Tanah Merah Station:
All trains will travel up to Wakaf Bharu Station near Kota Bharu. To go to Kuala Besut, you do not need to go all the way to Wakaf Bharu. Please get off the train when they stop at Tanah Merah Station. From Tanah Merah Station you need to take a 50 minutes taxi ride to Kuala Besut jetty.

From Singapore – get on the Timuran Express overnight train at Tanjung Pagar KTMB train station. Night express train leaves around 6.00pm every evening. You will get to Tanah Merah around 7.30am.
From Johor Bharu – get on the Timuran Express overnight train at Johor Bharu Railway Station. This is the same train which travel from Singapore. Departure time from Johor Bharu is at 6.50pm.
From Kuala Lumpur – Express Wau overnight train leaves from KL Sentral Station every evening at 8.30pm. You will get to Tanah Merah at around 10.00am.
Bus to Kuala Besut jetty:
From Kuala Lumpur – Night buses from TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) at around 8.00pm, you can take Mahligai Express and Mutiara Express directly to Kuala Besut jetty. One way ticket is around RM44.00 per person. You will reach Kuala Besut jetty around 4.00am.
From other cities (i.e Penang, Johor Bharu, Ipoh or Alor Setar) – You can take express buses to Jerteh town and then take a short taxi ride (15 minutes) to Kuala Besut jetty. Early morning taxi ride is RM20.00 per taxi.
In case you cannot get ticket to Kuala Besut or Jerteh, you can also get on express buses to Kota Bharu or Kuala Terengganu and continue your journey to Kuala Besut by taxi local buses.
From Singapore – Get your Transnasional Express ticket at Lavender Street (opposite Singapore Casket). This overnight bus will take you to Jerteh. These buses leaves Singapore at around 7.00pm and you will reach Jerteh around 5.00am. Take a short taxi ride from Jerteh to Kuala Besut jetty. Early morning taxi ride is RM20.00 per taxi.
